I did take care, when installing Elements, NOT to installer the GR Player that came with it, but still this installation seemed to have been interfering with GR5 Pro. The UI showed, in red text, that this was an invalid key, then it went a bit wonky, auto-switched to the updates pane and started downloading something (not sure what or why?! I cancelled this.) Back in the installed products pane, at last it indicated that GR5 was installed and activated, and I could finally use the plugin as intended.

In frustration, I entered the GR5 key into the Service Centre for Kontakt Elements. Sure enough, GR5 was running in 'Player' mode still. I then re-installed GR5 only for it to show up as 'Kontakt Elements' again (or perhaps Komplete Elements, I can't remember exactly). I then turned my attention to the registry, but after a couple of hours of deleting literally thousands of orphaned, broken registry entries which were just left there by the uninstaller I had to give up, because there were still countless numbers of entries left. So I uninstalled it again, and removed all of the NI detritus left on my hard drive (four 'Native Instruments' folders which were not cleaned up by the uninstaller). This showed up in the Service Centre as 'Kontakt Elements' (?!) I then removed all of the NI software from my system and only installed GR5. I did a fair bit of internet searching, re-installed GR5 but the problem remained.

When I went to use it, it was running as if it was the 'Player' version many of the presets were 'demo' only. This included the full-fat version of Guitar Rig 5 Pro. I registered and updated them all through the Service Centre. I recently set-up a new laptop based DAW and as part of this installed my set of NI plugins. I think NI's music software is excellent, but their back-end systems and (Dis-)Service Centre really need some work.
